windows - Visual Studio compiled artifacts: Store in TFS or in a Filesystem? -

i've experienced issues database growth berkeley db while awfully using svn library repo.

now evaluating tfs. code repo people favor or not, works, , need fine.

we need store somewhere compiled build auditing issues when going several environments (qas, prods, etc) ensure it's same file.

my boss says should store them in tfs because of plus value of revision history ("and other stuff tfs offers"). disagree, code repo should store code. , store builds should use filesystem, because...

we'll storing stuff in time deprecated , noone use, while in filesystem develop batch process integrated tfs msbuild weekly cleaning or something.

indexing, backuping , other stuff done winserv2008 normatives...

but maybe tell me better, optimal way?
