will code write using sbt sdk using connections environment port smartcloud environment? similarly, code develop using sbt sdk ibm collaboration quickstart image port smartcloud environment? i'm still bit confused differences between connections api , smartcloud api. sbt wrapper code handle differences, if any, you? thanks! cindy

so there 2 types of differences between connections applications on smartcloud , on-premise:

  1. smartcloud has older versions of application e.g. communities. api's backward compatible code written sdk java/js api's work against both environments. underlying rest api's behave differently sdk api's normalise differences.
  2. the profiles application fundamentally different between smartcloud , on-premise. application provide 2 separate java/js api's because differences between applications (and associated rest api's) significant. not provide code handle differences, complex build in generic way. news short term problem profiles application on smartcloud due upgraded (i don't have details on when happen).
