csv - How do I tell Excel that this isn't a comma delimited list? -

i have list i'd pull excel , work with, excel treating csv, isn't. list looks this:

last name, first name -- title, department last name, first name -- title, department, other department last name, first name -- title, department last name, first name -- title, department last name, first name -- title, department

what want split on --, split names on comma , split title list of departments compound formula uses =find , =left separate titles out. that's fine. can that. reason pasting list begin giving me grief. excel 2011 sees commas , gives me this:

last name | first name -- title | department last name | first name -- title | department last name | first name -- title | department | other department last name | first name -- title | department last name | first name -- title | department

i don't dialog, it. , i've simplified -- department names have commas in them, people in 3 or 4 departments. net result big mess. want paste 1 line per cell , myself, can't find in paste special or anywhere else tell excel lay off interpreting delimiters.

how make stop?

there should little paste button after pasting in excel.

it looks bit (image snatched on google xd):

enter image description here

if click it, should able text import wizard instead , if not, instead have option paste raw text.
