java - NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/catalina/startup/Bootstrap when running tomcat from exe/as service -


i have been running tomcat 6.0.37 server quite time via startup.bat.now want run tomcat service starts automatically when machine starts up.

i created service bat : service.bat install.this created service succesfully.when trying start error in title.i tried running exe(tomcat6.exe).this gave me exact same error.

i have checked catalina_home,java_home , jre_home set correctly.bootstrap.jar exist in tomcat/bin.path jvm correct.jvm.dll exist in jre6/bin/server.

i found thread different class missing said rt.jar missing jre,i checked , mine exists in jre6/lib/.i don't have anymore ideas can wrong.

try update service executing (adapt path): 

  c:\> tomcat6 //us//tomcat6 --description="apache tomcat server - http://tomcat.apache.org/ " \   c:\> --startup=auto --classpath=%java_home%\lib\tools.jar;%catalina_home%\bin\bootstrap.jar

us means: update service.
should fix classpath.
