parallel programming mode: Scala vs OpenCL -

in term of parallel programing model, difference between scala , opencl provided/supported?

taking trivial task example, how parallel task of add 2 vector 1 billion elements?

i assume scale should easy ,from programer's point of view.

vectora+ vectorb -> setc

or, not @ same level comparison?

come across interesting article

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2257035/amd-thinks-most-programmers-will-not-use-cuda-or-opencl

while amd has worked hard drive opencl, nvidia has cuda, both companies looking @ delivering performance advantages of using 2 languages , incorporating them languages such java, python , r.

maybe need scala :)
